Hujr bin Adi al-Kindi: The Great Martyr

Wahhabism is a Blasphemy Under the Cover of Islam and Atheism with the Face of Faith

Ayatollah Vahid Khorasani mentioned the excommunicator (Takfiri) Wahhabists’ crime and exhumation of Hojr ibn Adi and said: “Blasphemy and atheism destroyed the holy grave of this grand companion of holy prophet hand in hand”.

(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - On his jurisprudence courses held in the Grand mosque of Qom, Grand Ayatollah Vahid Khorasani mentioned the excommunicator Wahhabists’ crime and exhumation of Hojr ibn Adi and said: “Blasphemy and atheism destroyed the holy grave of this grand companion of holy prophet in Damascus hand in hand”.

He added: “Ibn al-Athir quotes that once Ayesha asked Muawiyah with bitterness about the reason behind killing of Hojr ibn Adi. “O Mother of believers! I killed him for the interest of Islam” said Muawiyah. “You killed someone” said Ayesha “about whom the prophet once said: “Hojr and his followers will be killed by [a group of people] who are Muslim and worshipers of God and [in result] all from heaven will get angry””

The grand Ayatollah indicated that Wahhabism is a blasphemy under the cover of Islam and atheism with the face of faith and wondered: “Is the Saudi Wahhabism capable of taking responsibility of such action?”

“Why such grave should be demolished unlike the Fatwa of Abu-Hanifa, Malek, Shafei and Ibn-Hanbal” he said.

The grand Ayatollah then stressed out that blasphemy and atheism are hand in hand to pressure Shiite and said: “The one whose grave got desecrated was someone whose Du’a would never remain unanswered according to Ibn al-Athir”.

Ayatollah Vahid Khorasani also mentioned the holiness of the Rajab month and the first Friday night of it which is the night of wishes and insisted: “Pray for the Syrian and Bahraini Muslims in the Night of wishes so God rid them out of atheists and infidels. This is the duty of all of us”.

(Ahlilbayt News Agensy)He was known as Hujr al-Khayr. His Kunya was Abu Abd al Rahman b. Adi b. al-Harth b. Amr b. Hujr. He was given the nickname (i.e., laqab) of Akil al-Mirar. He was the king of the Kindis. It was said that he was the son of Adi b. Mu'awiya b. Jubla b. Adi b. Rabi'a b. Mu'awiya al-Akramin. He belonged to Kinda.

Hujr was a notable companion from the Companions of Ali and his son al-Hasan, peace be on them. He was a lord from the lords of the Muslims in Kufa.

Hujr and his brother Hani' b. Adi came to the Prophet, may Allah bless him and his family. In his book Al-Isti'ab', b. Abd al-Bir al Maliki said: "Hujr was among the excellent Companions, and his age was less than their old ones." In his book Asad al-Ghaba fi Tamyiz al-Sahaba', Ibn al-Athir has mentioned him with words similar to these ones. In his book Al-Mustadrak', al-Hakim has described him as: "the monk of the Companions of Muhammad, may Allah bless him and his family."

Hujr worshipped (Allah) to the extent that when he made ritual impurity, he performed the ritual ablution; when he performed the ritual ablution, he prayed. He performed one thousand rak`as a day. His religious piety was apparent, and his supplication was accepted. He was among the chosen reliable figures. He preferred the hereafter to the life in this world to the extent that he subjected his life to killing, refusing to renounce his Imam. He had a high social position.

Hujr was in the army that conquered Sham (Syria), and in the army that conquered Qadisiya ( a city in Iraq). He took part in the Battle of the Camel headed by Ali. He was the commander of Kinda at the Battle of Siffin, and the commander of the left wing of the army at the Battle of al-Nahrwan. He was the brave man who defeated al-Dahhak b. Qays in the western part of Tadmur. It was he who said: "We are the children of war and appropriate for it. We start it and end it. We have known it (i.e., war) and it has known us."

Hujr was the first patient martyr in Islam.

Mu'awiya b. Abu Sufyan killed Hujr and six of his companions at Marj Athra' twelve miles away from Damascus in the year 51 A.H. Up till now, Hujr's grave is apparent and famous. There is a firm dome on it. Old marks can be seen on the dome that is beside a wide mosque. Hujr's companions who were killed with him are in his shrine. We will mention them one by one.

Ziyad b. Abih demolished Hujr's house in Kufa.

Photos of the Free Syrian Army agents destroyed the grave of 'Hujr ibn Adi'

A few days ago foreign-backed militants belonging to the Free Syria Army desecrated the tomb of Hujr ibn Adi in the town of Adra, located west of the capital Damascus. Militants raided the mausoleum and transferred his remains to an unknown location.

Ibn Adi - a close companion of the Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) and a loyal supporter of the first Shia Imam Ali (PBUH) - led the army of Muslims to victory in several crucial battles. He was martyred along with his son and several companions in 660 CE at the hands of the Umayyad ruler Muawiya ibn Abu Sufyan due to their firm loyalty to Imam Ali (PBUH).

The shrine of Hujr Ibn Adi Al-Kindi was reportedly ransacked and desecrated by members or associates of the Syria Free Army, which was formed in 2011.

On May 2nd, 2013 a group of Wahhabi Takfiri Jihadists destroyed one more grave in Syria for a prophet companion Hijir Bin Adi al-Kindi in Adra, Damascus Countryside. They took out his dead body, he died some 1,400 years ago and buried it in an unmarked place, as they claim through some Facebook page of one of their groups names.

"Alghuta al Sharghiyah" website, depend on Free Syrian Army claimed that the below picture belongs to Hujr bin Adi, companion of the Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) and a loyal supporter of the first Shia Imam Ali (PBUH).

The attack on the shrine was condemned by by Hezbollah: “What we expected and feared, and what Hezbollah Secretary General, his Eminence Sayyed Hasan Nasrallah, warned of two days ago, regarding the assault on sanctums, and the violation of religious sanctities, has happened,” a statement published by al-Manar read.

“The shrine of the great companion, Hujr Ibn Adi, is one of the most important shrines for all Muslims, and violating and digging his grave in this way reveals a terrorist and criminal mentality that does not respect neither Muslim nor Christian sanctities,” Hezbollah added.

In a statement, The European Council of Jamaats said that the destruction of the shrine was “not solely a matter of grave concern for the Shi’a [but] concerns Muslims worldwide.”

A blog also published several photographs of fighters standing in front of the destruction which they had apparently caused. One of the photos shows an empty hole in the ground, where the body of Hujr Ibn Adi Al-Kindi was exhumed.

Grand Shia Cleric Vahid Khorasani Severely Condemns US, UN, Human Rights Over Shia Killings in Pakistan, Bahrain

"Human rights groups in Europe, the US and the UN lost all their credits due to their silence towards the murders of Shias in Pakistan and Bahrain" said one of the most important religious figure in Iran, Grand Ayatollah Vahid Khorasani.

To protest the murders of innocent Shias in Pakistan, the Grand Iranian Shia cleric, Ayatollah Vahid Khorasani cancelled all his classes next Saturday. He said that the human rights groups in Europe, the US and the UN lost all their credits due to their silence towards the murders of Shias in Pakistan and Bahrain.

In his Wednesday morning class, the Grand Ayatollah pointed to the killings of men, women and children in Pakistan and Bahrain declaring the cancellations as a small step for all those innocent people who are murdered purely because of their love for the Ahlul Bait of the Prophet (PBUH).

The Grand Ayatollah Vahid referred to some articles of the human rights Charter specifying that, based on these articles, all humans have the same individual rights and respect whether they are the President of the US or a lady from the remotest villages of Pakistan. He asked if really the respect for the US President or the Queen of the UK is equal to the oppressed people under ruthless and puppet rulers. Is it right that the entire wealth of a nation should be at the disposal of one family and some people be in prisons without trials and rights at the same country?

The Grand Ayatollah pointing to the claim that the UN’s Charter is the first of its kind said Imam Ali (AS) who had the wealth of the entire Islamic world at his disposal, at the time of breaking his fast, ate bread and salt. Imam Ali (AS) gave exactly the same amount of money from the treasury to his son and a person in Habasheh (current Ethiopia). Is this the human rights or the one that is claimed nowadays? Once Imam Ali (as) bought a more expensive shirt for his servant and the servant tried to give the shirt back to Imam but Imam told him you are young, I am much older, so you have the priority.

The Grand Ayatollah Khorasani asked the international organisations that are silent about the murders of women and children, a question. Are you the founder of the rights of the human beings or the one (meaning Imam Ali who was at the time ruling the Islamic World) who when saw an old Christian man begging said; in his young age he was made to work and now that he is old he is abandoned? The old man then became entitled to a pension.
